Opening Thoughts
Today I’m stoked to light up the Perdomo Habano Maduro. This is my first time trying this stick, and the only other cigar I’ve had from Perdomo’s line is the Lot 23. I’ve heard plenty of good things about the Habano Maduro, which is exactly why I wanted to sit down and give it a proper review.
Band & Appearance
The band on the Perdomo Habano Maduro is eye-catching and elaborate, the kind of design that grabs your attention in the humidor. The back of the band highlights the Perdomo farms across Nicaragua’s growing regions of Jalapa, Estelí, and Condega—an elegant touch of authenticity. A secondary band on the foot adds a little extra flair while protecting the cigar.
The wrapper itself is gorgeous: a dark, oily Nicaraguan maduro leaf that gleams when it catches the light. The surface is smooth with only minimal veins, giving it a clean, well-rolled look. This cigar just begs to be smoked.

First Third
As I always say—let’s toast this cigar and get started. The first few draws are a little tight, but that’s quickly forgiven once the flavors kick in. Sweet tobacco, cocoa, and coffee beans immediately hit the palate, balanced by just a touch of pepper on the finish. The smoke output is on the lighter side, and the ash is a beautiful snowy white—always a sign of quality tobacco.
Second Third
The draw is still a bit snug, but the flavor is where this cigar really shines. Notes of chocolate and coffee deepen, while the sweet tobacco remains at the core. Out of nowhere, a buttery pecan flavor shows up—absolutely phenomenal, like a five-star dessert enjoyed in the comfort of my garage. Construction holds steady, with the burn line staying fairly straight through this middle portion.
Final Third
As I near the end, the draw finally loosens up, making the flavors easier to savor. All the same notes from the second third—chocolate, coffee, sweet tobacco, and that wonderful butter pecan—stay present and balanced right through the finish. The cigar never turns harsh, holding onto that rich, dessert-like sweetness all the way down.
Final Thoughts
The Perdomo Habano Maduro is everything I want in a dessert-style maduro. Sweet, rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. At this price point, it’s a cigar you can comfortably keep stocked in your humidor and enjoy regularly—especially after a hearty dinner.
If you enjoy sweet, dessert-like maduros, this cigar is a no-brainer. I’ll definitely be keeping these on hand.
